Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Rabobank is a financial institution committed to Corporate Social Responsibility. Therefore, Rabobank has dedicated CSR commitment to promote the economic and social development. In Rabobank Indonesia, education and social activity has been selected as the core focus of our corporate social responsibility program.
Through Rabobank’s Scholarship Grant which is organized in partnership with the Sampoerna Foundation, Rabobank indonesia has been providing scholarships to 60 elementary and 34 high school students from financially disadvantaged families in Yogyakarta and Bali respectively from 2007 to 2009. With Rabobank Scholarship Grant, we aim to support in improving both participation of Indonesian youth in education as well as improving the quality of education given. Rabobank Foundation As Rabobank is founded on co-operative principles, Rabobank Indonesia through Rabobank Foundation also supports microfinancing sector. This is through a large number of microfinance organizations in Indonesia especially in rural areas where large demand for agricultural financing exist. Rabobank Undergraduate Scholarship
In addition to education, throughout 2008, Rabobank Indonesia was also actively involved in social activities. We conducted blood donation, gave free medical treatment, handed basic needs items to people who live in the community around where our branch offices are located. This is part of our effort to create more awareness of corporate social responsibility activities among employees.
Rabobank contributes to the efforts to overcome poverty through the Rabobank Foundation. This action is being put to action by supporting community groups which come from underpriveleged social and economic conditions. In many developing countries, Rabobank Foundation has supported a group of farmers, entrepreneurs and women to form cooperatives.
In brief, Rabobank Foundation seeks to work in partnership with local organizations that: are structured, organized and functioning as a member based or member-oriented organization; have a proven track record of offering microfinance services; have the potential to be fully sustainable in the short to medium term.
In 2009, Rabobank Indonesia launched a scholarship program for S1 degree to 2009/2010 students of Insititut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) from faculty of Agriculture, Agricultural Technology, and Economics & Management. This is part of Rabobank Indonesia commitment to support the improvement of education quality in Indonesia. In addition, through the Rabobank Undergraduate Scholarship, Rabobank aims to support Indonesian high potential students to access higher education and get better quality of education.
